I just got a new, cute little Flip Video camera and I’m so excited to start using it.
I know many of you have been asking me for MORE videos. Well, you asked, so I answered!
And be sure to tell me exactly what videos you want me to film for YOU next, right here in the comments section below. I’m all ears!

Simply Put, I need a shopping list. I need to know what to buy and what meals to make for a week’s time. I am eating good sometimes and then falling into horrible past habits other times b/c I’m not prepared. And, I’m hungry. Too hungry to think about what choices I should be making. Please help!
I would like your info on nutrition in regard to the H1N1
flu virus and your comments re: the H1N1 flu shot?
Hi Isabel,
Could you give us a narrated tour of your pantry and refrigerator? Knowing what to keep around and why has always been difficult.
I would like to know what your views and opions are as regards the Blood type diet by Dr Peter J. D\’Adamo, that\’s of course assuming you have come across this diet type.
I have read the material and find it quite interesting as it appears to be based scientifically around hows foods interect on the cellular level in the blood and makes for quite a compelling argument.

Tony
Hi, I’m a teenage girl and I live in a house stocked with unhealthy junk food!!!!! I would like to loose about 5-10 lbs and just be healthy and fit! But I just can’t seem to stay away from all the temping, unhealthy food! I try to distract myself from it by doing other things but I still usually end up falling victim to all the high-calorie junk foods!!!!!! I can’t just get rid of it all either…my entire family eats it!! Please help me!!!!!!
How can I eat healthy at a Mexican food restaurant? Is guacamole salad good/bad for you? How fattening is green sauce if you don’t eat the fried tortilla chips? I know you can eat chicken fajitas but just plain grilled chicken is boring w/out anything else to go with it.
Hi Isabel!
Thanks for the video and happy that you got your new camera!
I would like to see more recipe ideas please. I’ve been eating really well, but at times when I feel that I don’t have enough ingredients at home, I get a little stuck on what to put together!
Do you have any ideas of meals with few ingredients?
Thanks a lot and I look forward to seeing more of you!
Regards,
Isabel
Hi Isabel
Great idea I\\\’m sure many people will take you up on your kind offer of assistance.
Generally speaking dietry advice and meal plans work well for people who work days and have a normal sleeping and eating pattern – I however do not. I work evenings and find i difficult to fit in eating 3x per day. I do eat a good breakfast, complete a daily workout for an hour around 11, lunch is usually around 1 o\\\’clock, fresh veggies, fish or chicken, I also try to include good fats. My problem is that I seldom feel the need to eat before leaving for work at 5, usually fruit and yoghurt is all I seem to manage and I just don\\\’t want to eat when I return home around 1am. I don\\\’t have a meal break at work and only drink water.
Any suggestions Isabel will be greatly received.
Keep up the good work.
Many thanks
Karen
What should a diet be like in order to gain lean muscle?
Hey Isabel. I’m just getting started on your program and am making changes very gradually. One of the changes I’m really working on is avoiding wheat products.
My first question/comment is: I have a breadmaker just gathering dust. Is it possible to make your own “Ezekial bread” and other type of traditional baked goods @ home with other flours? Do they translate 1:1 in recipes? I did find a bit about sprouting one’s own grains to make bread but I haven’tr tried it yet.
As far as other flours go (Rice, Coconut, spelt) are they as bad for your belly as wheat flour since they are also ground/processed or is it specifically WHEAT that is not good to use? In that same vein… is home spouted WHEAT ok to use in home cooking or should it be avoided entirely?
Last question for today: Any good substitutions for mayo?
Thanx!
Amy
Hi Isabel,
I’m just started, and living in a metric country, I found out that I’m having trouble figuring out portions and sizes. I think a visual guide would work wonders!
Kindest regards
Cecilia
Planning & preparing ahead of time are the things that really mess me up. I have loved your videos from your kitchen on exactly what you use and what you eat regularly. As simple as it may seem to you, it is really helpful to me! So more of what works in your household would be great!
When you say 4P for lunch, what is that ounces?
Can you switch the meals around like Breakfast, Lunch, Snack, Dinner, Snack?
Felicia
I take a lot of medications and when I read about side effects a lot of them involve weight gain! What can I do to mitigate these effects?
I take a levothyroxin for thyroid (hypo), heart meds – beta blocker, 2 antidepressants, 2 blood pressure meds, anti-inflammatory Naproxen an nsaid, and prometrium a progesterone capsule.
I obviously have some issues, but the biggest is my weight and I have struggled my whole life with it, since my 3rd birthday. But it is killing me, I have had a hip and both knees replaced and I’m sure they would hurt a lot less with
100+ pounds gone.
I`d like to loose wight with out stopping to drink alchol
Hi Isabel,
I have several questions that I hope you can answer on an upcoming video. Just when I think something is healthy, I read something about it that says the opposite. I get so confused.
Is stevia okay for children (& for that matter, adults)? I read that over time it can mess up your hormones.
Is Lo Han an okay sweetener to use?
Is garlic toxic? I read that pilots are told not to eat it before a flight because it crosses the blood brain barrier & causes brain fog.
Are animal fat, skin, & organs okay to eat? I read that those are the areas on meat that carry the most toxins.
Last but not least, does chocolate or cacao use up more minerals to digest than they provide? When it came out that chocolate was now healthy, I celebrated. That’s my favorite food, but I read that it can actually make you mineral deficient.
Thank you for your time, & any information that you can provide that will help me in my ongoing quest for health?
Cindy
Hello Isabel,
What I like most about your blogs and video is the way you manage to create that “personal” feeling, sharing your own life experiences and your thoughts with us. Bravo.
I live in Vietnam where evryone here eats at least 3-4 bowls of white rice per day. Obviously it’s their staple food. Hard for me to get away from it.
What is so bad about white rice ? Why can Vietnamse stay so slim and eat so much of it ? Are there varieties that are better than others if we want to keep the weight down ?
Thanks
Hi Isabel,
I’m 41 years old, 5 feet, 105 lbs and I just had a baby 7 mos ago. My main concern is to have a flatter stomach. I’ve been doing bootcamp at the gym 3 times a week for the last 5 mos. it’s helpful in getting me slimmer all over accept my stomach, it is still slightly potruding.I read somewhere that women over 40 tends to deposit fat around the stomach area and it will get bigger as they get older. My main concern is to have a flat stomach like before I ever gotten pregnant. I just wanted to know at my age after having a baby could it be possible to have a flat stomach again? Since I do work out, do you think it might be my diet? Please recommend a good diet to help me lose more stomach fat.
I have a 14 month old son. My wife stopped breast feeding him at 12 months and started him on regular store bought whole milk per the doctors orders (FYI: the milk we give him says it is hormone free but it is not labeled organic). I know process milk is really not good for you and neither are fruit juices (basically sugar water). So what do I give him to drink?
Thanks and thank you for the video.
Hi Isabel,
I’ve been a vegetarian all my life and a vegan the last 6 years. It seems the last year I am rapidly developing more and more food sensitivities (i.e. wheat, almonds, most nuts)
I am 52 years old. I exercise regularly and avoid caffeine and refined sugars. I don’t drink alcohol. Yet I struggle with weight I think largely due to an ongoing struggle with constipation. Could food sensitivities I am unaware of be the cause of constipation? I drink 8-10 glasses of water daily.
I take B12 and D3 as supplements. I can’t seem to lose 10 very stubborn pounds. I am 5′ 4″ and weigh 135-140 but would like to be 120-125.
If most people ate as I do they would be skinny with no problem! HELP!
Thanks!
my 20 year old \\\’baby\\\’ is now diabetic, can I use the protein powder as you specified on your recipes?
Hi Isabel
You have never done an item on bottled water v tap water so I looked into it a found a useful UK nutritional site that supports the info that I have learn’t from you. Here is a link to their interesting article on water.

Thanks for all your articles which are very appreciated, and keep up the good work.

Hi,
I saw your first video in your kitchen when you mentioned Organic Oats for breakfast. Do you have any more suggestions? I love breakfast and need some variety.
Thanks Isabel,

How to lose belly fat?
I lost weight but hardly on the belly
Isabel, thank you for this chance to request that you do a video stressing the need for a balanced life, which should include exercise (you recommend what kind, etc.) along with proper diet and discipline; a routine and regimen to go with healthy eating. (pretty please!!!)
Thanks in advance,
Jon
i have taken your advice for a long time with my own eating habits as well i have gone from 97KG to 75KGand i thank you for your help but i cant get rid of the rest of my stomach please help
Hi Isabel. Congratulations on your new baby. I am very impressed by your commitment to health and fitness so early after having your baby. I think this video blog is a fantastic idea, as it will surely reach so many people. One question I had was about Canola oil. I purchased Mike Geary’s fat burning kitchen and truth about abs ebooks, which are my bibles, and was on the conference video that you hosted with Chris Guerriero, so I know to use Organic Extra Virgin unrefined olive and coconut oils, which I do all the time. I understand that the vegetable oils create an unhealthy balance of Omega 6 to Omega 3’s, but I recently heard Dr. Ann Kulze on NPR, talk about Canola oil being one of the healthy oils. So what is the deal? Can one use or ingest some canola oil in small amounts and still not compromise one’s health?
Also, I know that soy is a no-no, except when it is fermented. Does that mean that Edamame and any tofu are off limits as well?
Can you explain more about cheat meals and how they can actually boost your metabolism and help you to burn fat, especially when combined with carbs. Joel Marion talks about this concept.
Thanks so much for doing this and I love and so appreciate your newsletters and those great recipes. You rock!!
Karina W.
Dear Isabel,
Dinner at home is my most common problem. Would you please make a short video of you making a full dinner? I can read a recepie and mult by four to make it for my family, but if I see you modeling it for me it is so much more powerful and inspiring.
Thanks,
This is so cool. I don’t have a particular request right now but I will be watching for your videos as I know they will be super helpful. I would LOVE to see how you go through your busy days and still eat healthy AND enjoy what you eat. Thanks
As we lose weight, should we reduce our calorie intake to keep the weight loss going?
Right the camera is cute ^.^ , I can see why people want more of you 8D.
Hi Isabel,
it is so good to see you on video. You seem so much more real. I have been an avid reader, but I enjoy your articles so much that I am now committed to following your regime and buying your DSP.
Thank you for all your tips. I am now eating almond butter and some of those gorgeous weight loss stuff you encourage us to have. I have lost 22 lbs since the beginning of the year and it is mainly due to your encouraging words.
I would love to see more videos on Food preparation and combinations. Thanks. Great work
Hey Isabel,
As a trainer recently diagnosed with diabetes, eating healthy has really taken on more meaning. It would be interesting to see your food choices if you were diabetic. I think it would be neat to see a video of you shopping or preparing a meal as if you were diabetic. How much would your diet change?
Before my mindset was that eating healthy was part of my job. Now it has to be my life with little room for error or I suffer the consequences. I have been experimenting with different diets and found that I do best with the paleo diet and “the Every Other Day Diet”
Thanks,
Scott
Hi Isobel,
I am about to start training for a 4km swim (fund raiser) in April next year and am wanting some information on the best foods to support my training regime.
I am also a little overweight so am hoping that the combination of your advice on food and my swim training will help lose those “love” handles while ensuring I have the nutitional/energy requirement to complete the swim.
This is the first time I have committed to such a phyisical challenge so its big fo me!
Thanks
Isabel,
You have been the beacon in my struggle for a practical and permanent weight loss and how to keep it that way forever (even at the face of so many delicious temptations). Thank you so much!
Minette (Santa Rosa City, Philippines)
Would love a peek at your food on hand to see how much fruit/veg you have and how many of those deviled eggs you normally have ready to go. And other snacks. Just want to see what you have ready to go.
Oh Isabella, you are so hot and with videos….. he he, I’d like to see you in a swim suit doing all kinds of stretches….LOL. OK, now I’m done with flirting. You probably are’nt even reading this, I’m sure it’s a screener (no offense screener). Maybe doing some videos on techniques to break addictions on sodas, Coca Cola, Mt. Dew – that garbage that I know is horrible for me, but yet I am so addicted. And, how about discussing some healthier ways to mix in some weekend drinking if such a think exists. Does it need to be counting calories and making room for the alcohol calories??
Hi Isabel,
Thanks for the opportunity to send this enquiry.
I would like to see your work out. Please record one of them and give us access to watch it.
Thanks,
Warm Regards,
Eleonora
Hi Isabel,
I would love to see you cook some of your meals. By the way, would organic popcorn popped in coconut oil be considered healthy or on your list?
Thanks,
Dianne
Hi Isabel, i would like to have some reciept for breakfast, like different omlets, lunches w/ tuna , really good sandwiches that give the most protein, and some good snacks to hold me in the late evening. i am also a diabetic. and i enjoy cooking my own food. and some good stretching exercises. thanks Fidel
Dear Isabel,
Thank you for all the articles you send and I appreciate so much for your caring to our good health. Living in the Middle East and with our different culture of eating system, I find sometimes difficulty in getting some of the food you recommend eating also since I am a beginner in your system and with the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays I am so afraid of slipping since I prepare everything myself. Appreciate your helpful hints/advice.
Dear Isabel,
Before anything else, let me first thank you for all your healthy advices. I learned so much from all of it and I always make it a point to really do as you say.
Like Michel above, I also would like to lose belly fat fast. Can you please give us more tips on how to do it? I have been eating more protein now as you suggested and trying to get away from carbo in the evening. Sugar is already out of the way.
Thank you so much, more power, and pls continue helping millions of unhealthy people around the world!!
Isabel: I have two requests. One is that I realize \"greens\" are great for fiber but I\’m on a blood thinner. Since most \"green veggies\" are high in vitamin K, which thickens the blood, I can\’t eat them. What alternatives are there?
Secondly, how do I keep from eating snacks at night while watching TV and being bored? (I know, self control, but I have little of that.
Thanks,
Don
Hi Isabel
Can you please show some of the exercise that you been following from Robs book (I think that it is called the fat burning furnace)and show the way it should be done.
I have lost alot of weight but not on my belly and need to see exercises that can help me.
Thanks
Carla
Dear Isabel,
I would really appreciate tips on healthy diet during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Thanks:)
Dear Isabel,
I am very frustrated. I cannot find organic fruits, vegs nor grass-fed anything. I have been trying to follow your system, but have gained 2 kilos. Help!
Miriam
I would love to hear what you have to say about diet and weightloss in the midst of adrenal fatigue and/or thyroid issues. I can’t seem to lose weight no matter how strictly I follow your DS program. Many thanks…
Hi Isabel,
Been following your program and knowledgeable insight for quite some time. Thanks so much. I’ve learned quite a bit!
Just wanted t know your feelings and expertise on the subject of sequential food combining for digestion and overall wellness. Thanks!
hi isabel,
i want to know more and if you can do a video on what foods and how much to eat based around calorie restriction.
Hi Isabelle,
Good work. I have linked to you from my blog, figuring that more people can take part of your knowledge. I would really like a video of your daily training-program.
In health, Anna
Hi there Isabel,
What is your Thanksgiving dinner going to look like? Are you going to gorge?
Thanks,

I have had breast cancer surgery , including removal of underarm lymph nodes. I find I cannot do toning exercises for arms that dont make my arm react/swell up etc. Any ideas for toning arms with this problem going on? Thanks
What a great idea your videoblog. What I miss is your view on the use of salt(NaCl). Further what about peanut-oil?
Looking forward to your next video.
Nico
By the way, am I the only Dutch participant?
Hi Isabel
Thank you so much for all the valuable and useful information you provide. I had reached my target weight before finding your diet programme but your info has been vital to enable me to maintain my weight and live a life of diet freedom.
A big question that exercises many of my friends who ask about how I lost weight is: What is the most important thing I should do to help me to stick to my diet?
If you could make a video about this it would help so many people and endear them to you for ever!
Keep up your sterling work. Love to you and all your family – especially Christian.

Hi Isabela,
I’m not a fat person, but I have a slight bulge.
I eat healthy, and when I’m not in too much pain
(stemmed from 3 back injuries – toe and hip) I
exercise. I do have a digestive problem and at
times even if I juice and water only, I get that
bulging stomach. What can I do to get rid of it?
Hello Isabel,
I love my porridege in the morning, but it seems to upset my diet.
By that I means, that I don’t lose weight at all for the moment.
I feel, that although I am eating very healthy for the moment (nothing white etc), i am still not losing weight/fat.
It could be realted to porridege (too many calories?) and perhaps portion related too.
What sort of portions are recommended?
Thank you
Hi Isable,
I just purhased your diet solution program and I am working my way through it. I was hoping that you could touch base on how to modify a diet (mixed type for now)to cope with hormonal changes due to menopause and the surprise stubborn belly fat. Also, after 3 pregnancies (twins in one case) on a small frame – my middle is saggy. Any suggestion to tighten up (I do yoga, weights, interval cardio 5-6x week).
Thanks,
Tuula
Hey,
thanks for the opportunity to ask some questions. I always love your videos!
I would like to know more about pre- and post-Workout nutrition.
Do you really need to pay extra attention to your meals around your workout? Or can I skip breakfast if I workout first thing in the morning?
And what are the best (natural) foods to eat after a workout to maximize your results (without some fancy shakes or powders)?
Thanks so much,
Karina

DEAR ISABEL
PLEASE LET ME BE HONEST WITH YOU. YOUR RECOMDATIONS AND MENUS YOU HAVE SENT TO ME, AFTER DOING THEM, HAVE SEEN THAT THEY ARE NOT ADECUATE FOR ME REGARDING THAT I AM A DIABETIC. YOU SEE ISABEL, I CAN NOT HAVE TO MUCH FAT IN MY DIAT BECAUSE FAT PRODUCES INSULINO RESISTENCE, CAN NOT EAT TO MANY THINGS THAT TRANSFORM INTO SUGAR BECAUSE MY SUGAR LEVELS GO UP LIKE A KITE IN A WINDY DAY. ON THE OTHER HAND I USE UNSULIN, 60 UNITS A DAY, AND AS YOU KNOW ALL THE SUGAR THAT STAYS IN THE BLOOD THAT IS NOT BURNED, TURNS INTO FAT, SO I AM FINDING THE IMPOSIBILITY TO LOSE WEIGHT.IT’S AS IF HAVE FOUND A BARRIER AFTER THE LOST OF FOUR KILOS, THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY TO LOSE ONE MORE KILOGRAM AFTER THE FOURTH KILOGRAM.
YOU KNOW ISABEL; THIS IS NOT THE ONLY PROBLEM, I ALSO CAN’T MAKE EXERCICE REGARDING MY TYPE OF WORK, I ALL THE TIME HAVE TO BE VISITNG CLIENTS BECUASE I HAVE THIS SMALL COMPANY DEDICATED TO THE SALE, IMPORT AND DISTRIBUTION OF AGROCHEMICALS AND THERE IS ALWAYS SOME ONE TO VISIT. SO MAKING EXERCICE IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, REGARDING I GET HOME BACK FROM MY VISITS LIKE AS IF SOME ONE HAS GIVEN ME A BEETING WITH A BAT, EXTREMELY TIRED. PLEASE ISABEL GIVE ME A HAND BECAUSE I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT BEFORE I START GETTING SIK, MY HIGHT IS 1.90 METERS, THAT IS HOW TALL I AM ISABEL, AND I AM WEIGHING 126 KILOGRAMS, AS YOU CAN SEE IT IS NOT TO MUCH FOR A PERSON WITH THE HIGHT I HAVE, NEVER THE LESS I NEED TO LOSE AT LEAST 36 KILOGRAMS.
I DO REMEMBER I DID THIS SO MANY YEARS AGO, AND LOST 36 KILOS IN A TERM OF ABOUT 11 MONTH, BUT AT THAT TIME I WAS 36 YEARS OF AGE, NOW IS A DIFFERENT MATTER BECAUSE I AM DIABETIC AND BECAUSE OF THE INSULIN GOT FAT ABOUT A YEAR AGO, SO IMAGINE I HAVE BEEN IN LINE, REGARDING MY WEIGHT, FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS, AND AT THIS VERY MOMENT I CAN’T LOSE MORE THAN 4 KILOS, JUST DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO, SO PLEASE ISABEL GIVE ME A HAND HERE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH BEFORE HAND AND LIKE ALL THE TIMES I AM GOING TO BE MOST ATTENTIVE TO ANY COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. HORATIO
I’ve learned a lot from Mike Geary about the dangers of eating commercially; raised meat, farmed fish, refined oils and flours, pasteurized dairy, soy products and the list goes on. I would like your take on any or all of the above.
Also… genetically modified foods, how do we know if what we eat is or if it isn’t.
I appreciate your dedication to educating us Isabel.
The better people understand how commercial processing not only destroys the nutritional values in our foods but also harmfully altars the fats and even adds chemicals the more likely people are to switch to organic raw unrefined grass fed foods which in turn will bring the cost down for all to enjoy.
Pay a little extra and eat a little less people.
Think quality not quantity!
Thank you very much for your time Isabel,
jr
Hi Isabel,
I have lost 66 pounds in one year with your help and guidance. Now I want to know as to how do I retain this weight throught my life. I am 58 years old now. I can’t possibly carry on with the same exercise regimen. Will only eating a healthy diet and less exercise over the coming months and years help to retain my lost weight?????
I constantly hear you need to keep the body hydrated. Pure water is recommended as the best way. I don’t like pure water. Are there other substitutes such as green tea, black tea decaf or caf, pure fruit juice, etc? these are probably not as good as pure water but something else should be better than nothing.
Hi Isabel~
I’m encouraged through all of your videos!
I would love to see you shop for groceries and give us clever ways to fix healthy food for our family members that don’t want to know it’s healthy!
Thanks,
Tambra
Hi Isabel,
I would like to see you make some meals and snacks for you and your family. I also had a baby this past August and i find it hard to have time to get a lot of meal/snack prep. My baby girl takes one good nap during the day and i take that time to workout and get all the cleaning stuff done. How do you do it?
Thank you!
Oh and i just wanted to say the Quinoa flakes are great breakfast idea for those who are sick of oatmeal. It has a very different taste from oatmeal and is really easy and fast to make.
hey isabel
i keep running into the same problem. i eat good ALL day long and when i get home after work i BLOW IT! i do the majority of cooking in my house but am just really tired after work OR have a martial arts class to run off to, so i get lazy and usually end up eating bad stuff.
besides preparing food ahead of time, do you have any tips on how i can finish the day strong? my food journal is embarrassing………….(a typical day) 4 small great meals then one real bad one =-(
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! =-)
thanks,
blake
Hi Isabel
I would like to know for how long can I go without proteins if you do not want to loose any muscle and how much protein do you need in a portion. Do we have to eat some protein close (and how close) before going to the bed if we want to prevent muscle loss (and thus fat gain in the long run)? Would we loose more fat in the long run if we eat some protein before going to the bed (let\\\’s say 50 g of 6 percent fat content hard cheese)versus nothing? Notice that I mean we would eat less calories (cca in 400 kj less) in the case when we do not eat the before bed protein.
How would this differ between a person who trains hard vs. a person with sedentary life style?
Thank you so much for your answer!
Maja
Hi Isabel,
thank you for this program. I have done alot of reading. A video would be nice. I always thought that wheat breat was the best bread for you. I \’ve train everyone in my house to eat it. My father won\’t eat anything else. I watched your video and found out that it isn\’t healthy that it breaks down to sugar. I couldn\’t beleive it, all this time I thought I was eating healthy. I even convinced my family to eat wheat bread. I need to know what I can buy that is affordable. I have a big family and things can get expensive. I haven’t been able to purchase the book that tells you how to burn fat while your asleep yet but I have joined curves. I am going 3 to 4 times aweek. I need help. This is a big step for me.

I have lost body fat but am now struggling to loose the last few inches off my love handle area. I know you can’t spot train. What things should I stress more in my workout to finish off these last few inches?? Should I be super strict on my diet?
Thanks and I enjoy your articles!
Kayla
Hey Isabel!
I love your tips, and it\’s helpful where I can apply it. I\’m only a teenager (15 years old) and my parents don\’t want to change the \"meals\".
Do you have any tips for me to lose my bellyfat in a way my parents don\’t have to change anything?
It\’s hard for me to leave a candy or something. I\’ve always got that \"hungry\" feeling, it makes me sad.
Please write me some tips!

Hi Isabel, i would like to know what kind of foods would be appropriate for diabetics and how to structure a proper meal program that maintains a proper glucose balance throught the day, What foods are best to eat and at what times of the day.
Thanks.
I love your advice, Isabel. I am 51. Since I was at a healthy weight at age 35, I have gained 25 lbs. I kept getting sidelined by medical problems. Now I have severe arthritis in my knees, and my doctor advised me not to walk or ride bike. I can’t lunge or squat, either. Please advise what kind of aerobic exercise I can do. Much thanks.
Hey Catha,
Sprouted grain or spelt bread is the best option. A great brand is the Food For Life Ezekiel 4:9 bread. They come in different flavors too!
You can also try Vermont Bread. This brand is usually available at most supermarkets.
Hey Tuula,
You might find it helpful to remove grains from your diet to cope with the hormonal changes. This will also speed up your metabolism, helping with releasing that belly fat.
Hey Anne,
If the porridge is upsetting your stomach, it sounds like it’s time to eat something else in the morning. Breakfast is the first and most important meal of the day and you should not be starting off with an upset stomach. How about an omelet with veggies or some organic oats with some fruits mixed in?
Hi Isabel,
I like reading your newsletter.I like the way you look at things a little differently.
Did you see the film “Food,INC.” ? It’s all about how our food supply has been taken over by big business in the name of profits.
My question and request is: Can you tell us more about organic foods and how to get more into our lives, and how can we avoid being brainwashed by big business into buying food that’s BAD for us.
Thanks….To your success, Tommy
Hey Fidel,
Check out this article on our website: http://www.thedietsolutionprogram.com/articles.aspx?article=3-Simple,-Healthy-Meal-Plans-You-Can-Start-Right-Now
Hey Rosa,
Yes, you can use those recipes for your 20-year-old.
Hey Sherry,
Check out the article on constipation: http://www.thedietsolutionprogram.com/articles.aspx?article=Am-I-Constipated?-Constipation-Treatments
Hey Felicia,
4P means 4 proteins, usually meaning 4 ounces of protein. Check the allowable food servings chart in the book to find out how many ounces equals one serving.
You can change the meal set up however you like if it suits your schedule better.
Hey Amy,
I’d recommend making spelt bread just to avoid the long process of sprouting your own grains. There are many great recipes for spelt bread online.
Other kinds of flour are less likely to cause bloating, so it is ok to use these kinds for baking.
Check out the recipe on our site for mayo: http://www.thedietsolutionprogram.com/recipes.aspx?recipe=Organic-Mayo
Breakfast recipes please! I am really struggling to incorporate the cooked veg into a breakfast meal and is it ok to eat oats? eg porrige or muesli?
Thanks Isabel !
I’ll start reducing grains in my diet and monitor how that works out for me. I do have one additional question; I was a vegetarian for most of my life and I am working my way up to include animal based proteins. In your diet program you do not have much in the way for vegetarian based protein options – do you think that it is better to be an omnivore or do you have some options that you could recommend. I tried re-introducing dairy (greek yougurt and cottage cheese) but I am finding that I am more constipated and sluggish so I am going to start removing them from my diet again. I think also that since I am going through the hormonal changes that dairy is not agreeing with me that well – is this something you have encountered with older women?
Thanks !
Tuula
hey isabel, i got a question for yah
i heard that loosing weight has alot to do with leptin, and having ‘cheat’ days boosts your leptin, maintains your metabolism and keep consistent weight loss results. however i also read that leptin is only elevated for about half a day so it wouldnt make a differece. what is your theory on having regular (say once a week) cheat day?
also i was wondering about this lil scenario. why is it that my mother can eat like a bird (as low as 500 calories)and yet still no fat loss, yet my friends eat junk food all day long ( and loads of it) but never gain an ounce. is it my mother crashed metabolism from years of dieting or?
Hi Isabel,
Thanks for your personal and honest information. I would like to know your thoughts on an acid/alkaline lifestyle of eating and particularly with food combining and the digestive requirements of protein which needs a acidic environment to digest in and simple carbs/grains and starchy vegetables needing a alkaline environment. Thus producing an acidic non-digesting glob that can cause heartburn, bloating and constipation. And to also mention, osteoporosis, arthritis and other over acid and inflamed ailments. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’m glad you are not an advocate for dairy products but all grain products especially wheat, processed meats and sugars are also very acidic. It can be all very overwhelming but I am 48 and living proof of no pain and proper BMI.
Dear Isabel,
I just got the Prograde protein powder. How do you calculate it into the program. Is one scoop (with water)=1 protein or 1 protein+1 carb?
Thanks,
Tuula
Hi Isabel,
I appreciate all your sound advice.
I am trying to gain lean muscle and bring down my fat percentage. I am great at following diet programs during the work week, but when the weekend or a holiday comes around I revert back to bad habits.
How do I stop my cravings?
Also I would love to eat organic food but it is too expensive (3 kids in childcare)You often recommend Prograde as a good source for nutrition supplements but once again, I cannot afford it, can you recommend cheaper alternatives.
Thanks.
I am sooo excited about your videos – they always help me out so much!
More information on the evils of soy would be great – so many of my co-workers keep asking me about it and I want to be accurate.
Also, tips on feeding my 2-year-old in a world full of junk would be helpful. It is difficult at playdates when other mothers are feeding their kids unhealthy choices. We give our daughter organic ancient grain cereals and gluten free crackers with organic PB, fruit, eggs, and nuts. She is fussy about veggies. Any tips on dealing with young kids as well as dealing with other parents?
Thanks!
Hi Isabel,
I have been reading your articles along with Mike Geary’s and Joel Marion’s for about a month and a half now. The only problem with buying all the great groceries you and the other two suggest is that it costs quite a bit of money and I am in college. I recently went to the grocery store and I ended up paying about $300 for all the food. I cannot keep paying that amount of money and pay for college. Any cheaper suggestions? Also, I would love to hear more about some recipes for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. I love the recipe Mike Geary gave about softening the apples with coconut oil and adding Craisins and an egg. I, just like others, struggle with my creativity when it comes to making other recipes though. A video on various recipes would be great. Thank you so much for everything you have done already! I have learned a ton!
Alison
Love the video idea! I would also like to see video of you making some of your recipes… I made your recipe for “carob chip cookies” once and it was a disaster! Something had to be wrong with the quantities in the recipe..which I followed eXactly as shown in your newsletter…I wondered then if you had actually MADE that recipe before..or just passed it along!
Hey Alison,
Well, you can start by buying only organic meat and poultry. Also, buy the organic variety of vegetables that have high amounts of pesticide residue. This way, you get the essentials and you can slowly transition to buying all organic once you are in a better financial place.
Hey Linda,
I guess the best plan of action is to keep it healthy from the start. As far as other parents go, they are free to give advice, but not all of it is worth taking.
Hey Anthony,
Try eating fruits when you get cravings or making a trail mix with some no sugar added dried fruit thrown in. These two options will help when those sugar cravings pop up.
Hey Tuula,
One serving of the powder is equal to one serving of protein.
Hey Sule,
I think a cheat day can be a great way to boost your metabolism and help burn fat. Just remember to move on from it and continue eating healthy. As for your mother, it could be her metabolism or her food choices.
Hey Tuula,
We actually just updated the recipe guide and will be releasing more vegetarian options. I think it’s important to eat animal protein as this has a higher amount of protein than any vegetarian option and a better quality of protein. If you’re not doing so well with dairy, then there’s no need to re-introduce it.
I think I am breaking out when I eat cashews, what other kind of nuts can I eat? I haven’t been perefect with my diet out of not always having money to buy organic, but I buy organic milk, eggs and most meats and veggies, including raw organic almonds and dry fruit.
Hey Marta,
You can eat almonds, walnuts, and brazil nuts just to name a few. Just make sure they are raw and unsalted.
hi isabel,
i just want to now, what particular diet can you suggest in order for me to lessen my body fats but will not compromise my health. sometimes i take a liitle eal but i easily get hungry. i’m a nursing student and i need to eat well in order to compensate for my study and duty needs.. thanks a lot.

Hi Isabel

I live in Malta and have a problem, i don’t find everything at the supermarket and health shops and it cost money to buy them online! To mention a few coconut oil and almond butter.

Hey Isabel
I was wondering about xylitol…when I was at my local health store looking for Stevia today, the sales-lady also recomended xylitol as an alternative – Stevia is not widely available where I live and when you do find it, it is a bit expensive. I was wondering what your opinion is on xylitol as a sweetner substitute?
Thanx
Leonie
Hey Leonie,
Xylitol is a good alternative to Stevia if you cannot find it, but be careful as some have found that they have trouble digesting this sweetener.
Hi Isabel
I want some advice on loosing belly fat, most of the weight is in my stomach and thigh region. I believe i eat pretty well-i don’t eat sweets or cheese/cheese products and I exercise about three times a week-1hr each at the gym.I have also started eating more fruit and vegetables. so far I’ve lost 4lbs and seemed to have plateaued at 138lbs. I want to lose at least twenty more because on a 5′3″ frame, this is no good. what do you suggest?
Also-I do not live in the US so there are no organic stores that provide that option, so i need to do the best with the ‘normal’ stuff.
Hey Michelle,
You don’t necessarily need coconut oil and almond butter to follow the program. You can go with some raw almonds rather than the butter. In fact, if you stick to the basic essentials (fruits, veggies, meat, poultry, eggs, and fish) you will have even better results.
Hey There,
Why not give the Diet Solution Program a try?
