Healthy eating on vacation… Is it even necessary?
February 10, 2010
Vacation means you’re allowed to be on an eating “free for all”, right?
Watch my video to see my exact eating strategy while I’m on vacation…and nope, it’s probably not what you think.
YES. I did film today’s video in my pajamas. Why? Why not?

Great tips Isabel!
When I go on vacation I usually just focusing on staying away from the worst stuff, but I don’t worry about it too much.
I like to have fun on my vacation, but I still need to eat at least somewhat well otherwise I just don’t feel top notch.

Hey Isabel,
You rock girl!!! I can see you flexibility… from the Bahamas to snow in New Jersey. I live in Holland, and this year we have so much wintertime and snow yes also snow!!! We never had snow returning again and again. I long for the spring. But snow still makes a wonderful romantic scene.
Flexibility in our life is a good thing and yes in our diet it is too, thank you for your great example in this, you even show it with you PJ’s on! We need to enjoy life, and we can if we are flexible and balanced. These video’s of you are helping me a lot! It is like I know you and we are in this together!
Have a wonderful vacation, lots of fun with you family and thanks for your time and friendly support always!
warm regards,
Annette
Thank you this was helpful. Do you recommending limitig your intake of potato or sweet potatoes?
Also, I noticed that quienoa provides protien, but it isn\’t listed as a protein in you lists for the metabolic types. Why?
Instead of using sprouted bread all the time can you use bread made from millet flour?
Isabel, I was so disappointed for you to have to give up your trip to the Bahamas!! Well, you definitely coped with that very well! I want to commend you on your commitment to your clients. I am new on board and I am so thankful that I found you! I was already aware of Metabolic Typing, Dr. Mercola and Sally Fallon, and have worked out \\"hard core\\" since the 80\\\’s… but the quantities of fats were always a mystery to me and I have been saved by the control and structure of your meal plans!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I am so impressed that you continue to do your video clips for us–everything is so informative. We will be going to Spain @ the end of March and I know that I will be having some cheat meals….likely in the form of Sangria!!
great blog.
i am going over seas next week, so your info was very helpful.
thanks

Hi Isabel,
Thanks so much for your advice on not going ‘anal’ over a vacation! We’re leaving Friday for Vancouver for a BIG family meal at a Chinese restaraunt; very typical for my husband’s family!
I was already trying to plan what I would bring with me for some meals, ie. breakfast & snacks, your advice re: oatmeal or eggs plus raw nuts was very helpful.
I know we’ll be walking a lot, as we’re hoping to take in some of the free Olympic sites over the course of a few days.
Since, there are a lot of traffic restrictions, we’ll be using public transport, either bus or skytrain. Hopfully any indulgences will be worn off with all the walking!
Cheers,
Wendy
p.s. will send update when we return!
amazing! like always..
just some videos i would like to watch:
drinks at the bar
and
cinnamon (in water) as a cleansing system?
Thank you!!
